Webinar - Innovation and Sustainability in the Maritime Sector:

A deep dive into the Strategic Cooperation Agreement between Tasmania and Washington State

Thursday, 8 May 2025

In October 2024, Tasmania and Washington State signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement focused on three key pillars of collaboration: Future Energies and Clean Technologies; Maritime and Advanced Technologies; and Innovation, Skills and Workforce Development.

Join Trade Tasmania and the Washington State Department of Commerce as we launch a series of events arising from the Agreement, highlighting this new partnership and showcasing the globally significant progress being achieved through industry collaboration across our states.

In this in initial webinar, we’ll provide an overview on the shared challenges and opportunities between Tasmania and Washington State and detail the roadmap that led to our state-to-state collaboration.

Touching on all three pillars in the Agreement, we’ll then hear from two key players in our respective maritime ecosystems, Dr Jeffrey Hawkins from the Tasmania Maritime Network, along with Joshua Berger from Washington Maritime Blue. Together, these organisations have leveraged the Strategic Cooperation Agreement to establish a program of work investigating the maritime supply chain in offshore wind farms. Join us as they share their initial findings.
